San Francisco for Memorial Weekend

Hey guys! I will be going on a road trip to San Francisco this upcoming weekend for Memorial Day. I have been to San Francisco once and was able to visit some really cool spots. This time I have a whole list of exciting new destinations. I will be creating a list soon on another post to share all these unique spots.

One thing to know about driving up north from Los Angeles, is it will be a good six to seven hour drive down interstate five. I’ve heard of the other way to drive, which is taking the California route 1, but never had the chance to take that route. It’s a scenic trip voted one of the best routes by Best American Road Trips by National Geographic.

First time I took a road trip to San Fran was in March 2016. The weather was crazy, heavy showers and gloomy skies. The weather was no match for us and we continued to explore San Fran’s historical landmarks starting with:

Lombard Street

“The crookedest street in the world”

 “Full House” House

This was the not the real house. It is actually a blue victorian house located on 1709 Broderick.

 Aquarium of the Bay

Located at Pier 39. Trip out on over 20,000 marine animals.

The infamous Alcatraz was a federal prison from 1934-1962. Tickets for the ferry cruise around the island run about $30.00. Tickets for the tour on actual island is $46.00. Click on link for information

The Robin Williams Tunnel

Formally known as “The Waldo Tunnel” in Sausalito

Golden Gate Bridge

A historical landmark. Declared as one of “The Wonders of the Modern World” by Engineers. At the end of the bridge you will find an area to take pics and admire the beautiful views.

The Castro District

Castro District

Symbolic neighborhood for the LGBT community.
